Description

Centaurus A, NGC5128, is a huge elliptical galaxy in the constellation of Centaurus at a distance of approx 12 million light years from earth. The galaxy is said to be the fifth brightest in the sky. It contains a supermassive black hole of 55 solar masses and ejects a relativistic jet that collides with the surrounding gases, and towards the bottom left of my image, Jet A can just be seen, picked up in the Ha exposures.
